Please use the updated version of Singular which also
accepts readline 4.x, not only readline 2.x/3.x.

Hello!

I am unable to compile Singular in Jaguar. configure fails
with the error message "building without readline impossible
on PowerMacintosh-darwin", even though readline (version 4.2)
is installed and works with other programs.

Has anybody successfully compiled Singular for Jaguar? If
yes, what's the trick? By the way, I am not really interested
in readline support; I much prefer to run Singular in Emacs
anyway. If it is somehow possible to avoid checking for
readline and compile a binary without it, that would be an
acceptable solution to me.
