 Post subject: Working memory
PostPosted: Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:31 pm
I have two problem:

1) When factorizing a system of many polynomials
( > 200 ), and if each member has many factors, Singular is out of memory and
trying to start.

2) When compute a Groebner base of an ideal I which has
many polynomials, for instance over 300 , Singular's also out

How can I extend the working memory or do some thing useful this case?

Thank you very much.
Man.

> I have two problem:
Singular uses all available memory (main memeory and swap:
up to 4 GB).
Enlarging this pool is possible: use more swap space.
How to use more swap space depends on your operation system.
But also keep in mind taht the problems you mentioned are
quite memory consuming and they might be impossible to solve
within the available space.
