Dear Xijin Tang, the polynomial x-y is no unit in the ring GF(2^8)[x,y]. So Singular does not allow you to divide by it. It would allow you to divide a by any number in the coefficient field, i.e. a polynomial only in z. Sincerely, Oliver Wienand |
